Anyone have info on it? I can't seem to find any good articles about it online, all of them just say "Don't do it, it's illegal" and don't have any techincal info on it or explanations on how to do it.
Anyone have experience with this? I think it could be a fun thing to mess around with.

You probably have your theme set to BlackStorm instead of whatever the default theme is. So if you go into your settings and switch to default, it should change it to the newer theme. I changed it from black because I've decided not to be emo anymore.

OMG! I was so impressed today! I went to the forum site and I saw a new theme and it was glorious! I went to make a post about how much I loved the new theme and noticed I was not logged in since I had recently cleaned my cache. Then, much to my dismay, the theme reverted to the BlackStorm it has been for years.
Why, Lord? Why? Why tease me so?!?
I am summarily depressed and it is all RoBoCoP's fault. My death will be on your hands!!!!!

https://www.youtube.com/v/22ZaKbxmEMAMeet the Robot Telemarketer Who Denies She’s A Robot
The phone call came from a charming woman with a bright, engaging voice to the cell phone of a TIME Washington Bureau Chief Michael Scherer. She wanted to offer a deal on health insurance, but something was fishy. The Only Thing Weirder Than a Telemarketing Robot
When Scherer asked point blank if she was a real person, or a computer-operated robot voice, she replied enthusiastically that she was real, with a charming laugh. But then she failed several other tests. When asked “What vegetable is found in tomato soup?” she said she did not understand the question. When asked multiple times what day of the week it was yesterday, she complained repeatedly of a bad connection.
Sometimes, you have to think like a scammer.
So, when I saw that an apparent robot telemarketer named Samantha West had randomly called a Time writer and denied she/it/they was a robot, I wondered: where could I buy such an interactive voicebot?
This query led me down a strange rabbit hole. And along the way, I discovered that Samantha West may be something even stranger than a telemarketing robot. Samantha West may be a human sitting in a foreign call center playing recorded North American English through a soundboard.

I'm a year late but if you mean besides merch, maybe you guys could have your own game/animated short or something. But if you mean merch maybe something like phone covers, posters, more shirts, an actual cactus farm, and maybe hoodies and sugarplums. I don't know just some random thoughts My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself..

Just stumbled here to say G'day from Sydney Australia ... I am old school .. back in the late 80's and 90's in the days of the Amiga 500 computer ..
when phone systems were a joke and easily exploited ... and before there was the internet ...
I was a member of the group Liberty who released this program -->
I was a phreaker , modem trader , co-sysop of a few bbs systems , and did some voice mail box hacking etc.
Even though I sold all my computer gear after the big busts in Australia , I still kept a couple of my private phreaking disks and recently had them converted to adf format so they can be used on the amiga emulator winaue .. if you want to have a look at the programs I was using then you can download them from here -->http://www.cbm8bit.com/amiga/amiga/server/grandis.nu%20Commodore_Amiga/browse/App/Disk/Phreaking%20Apps
If you read the book the Underground by Suelette Dreyfus .. the introduction mentions a few people from liberty
... you can download it for free here -->http://www.underground-book.net/
anyone from the good old days here ?

Anyone ever run into these before?
I was just scanning random numbers by hand when I hit it, feel free to check it out:
The area code is Detroit, more specifically North-West Livonia (At least, based on an NXX list from 1991 haha)
Interesting line though, never heard that recording before.

I tried dialing a few of those numbers and they just sound like milliwatts (1004hz) to me. The are probably not loop numbers.
So what would the point be of having random milliwatt lines sitting on a ton of XXX-XXX-9996 lines? I've found tons of them, can't really seem to find a reason as to why.
Also, what would a true loop line sound like then? Any different?
I had no idea about this PL tones thing--that's probably my issue. It does sound a little cumbersome...scrolling the different tones, selecting one, trying it out, switching to the next one, etc up to 40 times.
As for the "2 frequencies" issue, I think you might be mistaken. If I'm receiving the drive thru employee's voice on 35.04 MHz, I'm pretty sure that's what I'd transmit on to speak to the customer. But to speak to the employee, I'd transmit on its paired frequency. Even though this list is from 1996
, it's the most complete one I've found and is surprisingly accurate.
