You're probably thinking of the incident from this page: http://www.phonelosers.org/screw/

It was some guy selling print outs of text files and at least one of their prints was an exact copy from phonelosers.org.  There was no actual book involved, though.

That is the same thing I thought after reading the real PLA book. WTF I already read it on the website, good refresher thou and price was not bad at all.

The used copies are being sold by the people who already own the book. They bought it cheap and wants to sell high. Kind of the like the stock market.
