Landline DoS through SIP trunk

(1/1)

StinkySir:
Lets say one wanted to take a small business a few regional offices and one landline per office off the telephone for a few weeks during their busy season?

Plan would be to use something like pycall to flood SIP connect requests every few seconds during office hours. There are ready to use scripts for this in pycall for use with asterisk.

Two issues. The first is that for this to be feasible, there should be no way to stop the calls within at least the first two weeks. Second, this needs to be done in such a way that there is no easy to follow trail.

I suspect that if the business complain to their telco, the telco will eventually find out which other telco is sending the calls (ie the SIP termination provider) and ask them to stop doing it. Any idea how long this would take?

If one were to use multiple SIP termination providers in multiple foreign countries and start calling from the next available provider once the first account gets TOS'ed, I would imagine the calls could continue for longer.

The business obviously needs to publish its numbers, so changing number will not work.
Given that the method used will not generate billing records, will the SIP termination provider even notice. Are there foreign ones which specialise in these autogenerated robocalls who don't really care about autodiallers?

Yes.
